80 old tires illegally disposed of in the Siegburg Forest

In Siegburg, around 2 old tires and hubcaps were found in the forest near a drinking water treatment plant on January 2024, 80. Despite the difficult terrain, the city's public works department cleared the landfill. The taxpayer is responsible for the disposal costs. A person responsible has not yet been identified. The recycling center in Troisdorf is recommended for environmentally friendly disposal.

The ZARE initiative is an amalgamation of a total of 18 companies organized in the Federal Association of Tire Dealers and Vulcanisers (BRV), 16 of which are certified disposal companies. The ZARE partners have set themselves the task of raising awareness of professional old tire recycling in Germany. At 25 locations, the ZARE partners cover almost all of Germany and the Netherlands. The ZARE partners do not have any additional certification compared to the certified used tire disposal companies who do not belong to the initiative. The certificate in accordance with the Waste Management Ordinance/BRV requirement profile alone stands for environmentally friendly disposal of old tires. The ZARE initiative makes this public.
