Around 800 tires were deposited at several locations in the municipality of Kettershausen in the Allgäu over the weekend of April 13th and 14th. The mayor of the municipality - Markus Koneberg - is horrified - there has never been such a large crowd. “Otherwise there are always 30 or 40 tires - but around 800 tires - that's a lot. It's good that the Bavarian Radio also picked up the topic on the radio as well as on BR 24 and of course included it on the website. Dumping used tires is not a trivial offense - it damages nature and the municipality - ultimately the taxpayer - has to pay the costs for professional disposal. It remains important that municipalities and citizens make illegal tire disposal public - this is the only way we can take measures to make this type of offense more difficult in the future.
