Sustainable into the summer tire season: ZARE supports car workshops with a special promotional package

Bonn, February 26, 2025 Spring is approaching and with it the annual changeover time from winter to summer tires. Car repair shops and tire dealers are facing a peak season in the coming weeks - and thus the challenge of disposing of large quantities of old tires properly. The ZARE (Certified Old Tire Disposal) initiative is offering car repair shops a special action package with which they can act not only efficiently but also particularly sustainably.

Sustainable waste tire disposal as a competitive advantage

Drivers are increasingly placing value on environmentally friendly and professional disposal of old tires. With the ZARE campaign package, car repair shops can actively inform their customers about sustainable disposal options and at the same time underline their own responsibility for environmental protection. "Our goal is to support car repair shops in disposing of old tires in a resource-saving and legally compliant manner," explains Christina Guth, ZARE network coordinator. "By working with certified disposal companies, companies can be sure that worn tires are returned to the cycle and recycled in the best possible way."

What does the ZARE promotional package offer?

Car repair shops that opt for the campaign package will not only receive information materials to educate their customers, but also the opportunity to position themselves as a sustainable partner of the ZARE initiative. "With the materials, companies can inform their customers directly in the workshop about certified waste tire disposal. At the same time, they benefit from a professional, environmentally friendly disposal solution," Guth continues. In addition, the campaign package highlights the importance of certified disposal in order to prevent illegal dumping and environmentally harmful disposal practices.

ZARE – for responsible tire disposal

The ZARE network comprises 18 certified waste disposal companies that operate throughout Germany. Each year, over 50% of the waste tires are recycled in an environmentally friendly manner by the partner companies. Depending on their condition, the old tires are either retreaded, exported as used tires, or further processed using materials or chemicals. This means that old tires are used to make, among other things, fall protection mats for playgrounds, green roof mats, or stable mats for agriculture.
