The first visit by the ZARE initiative to the in-house exhibition of the Free Tire Purchasing Initiative (FRI) on September 21 and 22, 2017 was worth it. FRI suppliers and GDHS system partners met shortly before NUFAM for a lively exchange on the Cologne trade fair grounds. The ZARE initiative, which was present with its own stand, also benefited from this. New contacts could be made and it was shown once again that there is definitely a need for clarification regarding the sustainable disposal of old tires even among the experts. The ZARE employees used the opportunity to provide information about the diverse recycling options for used tires and the importance of a closed value chain. The rubber granules, which were available to look at and touch in large ZARE bins and whose numerous areas of application were still unknown to many, made a special impression. At the end of the two days, one thing was clear: the commitment to disposing of old tires is paying off.
