E-mobility has gained a significant market share in 2020. The topic of environment and sustainability is important to more and more motorists and many want to make their contribution to reducing CO2 emissions. Overall, more consumers are paying attention to the environmental compatibility of the products they use. In Germany alone, almost 600.000 tons of used tires accumulate every year - if you put them all together, that would result in a volume of around 3.000 single-family houses - in other words, a large village.
As early as 2015, responsible waste tire disposal companies came together in the ZARE initiative (certified waste tire disposal companies) to address the issue of sustainable tire recycling. With a total of 19 companies today, we guarantee that no tire ends up in the trash and that every tire is sent to a sensible recycling process. This includes tire retreading at the forefront. But also the export of used tires, the use of granules and rubber powder obtained from tires or thermal recycling in thermal power stations.
Unfortunately, there are still companies that collect old tires and either dump them on heaps or dump them illegally in forests and fields - both are punishable and both harm nature - on this one Website find the illegal deposits - in total there were over 2020 cases in Germany in 150; the number of unreported cases is likely to be significantly higher.
