The unregulated incineration of German waste tire exports in the Near and Middle East as fuel in cement works is responsible for the emission of around 140.000 tons of CO2 emissions per year. In view of these devastating effects, rapid action is required. Allianz Zukunft Reifen (AZuR) is therefore appealing to the responsible federal and state politicians to demand an immediate ban on this practice in non-EU countries.
Germany has also missed its climate targets for 2022 again. A ban on the unregulated incineration of German waste tire exports would be an effective solution to a serious environmental problem without the need for large subsidies. The approximately 200.000 tons of used tires could be kept in the material cycle through environmentally friendly processing and the use of qualified specialist companies. This would not only contribute to the conservation of natural resources, but also reduce the volume of waste.
As early as mid-June, the Alliance Future Tires (AZuR) called on personally responsible politicians in the federal and state governments to finally take responsibility for the environment, the climate and future generations. They are intended to support the immediate ban on the unregulated incineration of German export used tire waste in non-EU countries.
