Large illegal tire warehouse discovered in Porta Westfalica

An illegal tire warehouse was discovered in Porta Westfalica, containing up to 25.000 old car and truck tires. The tires were discovered on a former company site in the Holzhausen district. Due to the high risk of fire, the tires must be removed immediately. The city has set the owners a deadline to ensure that they are disposed of properly. If this does not happen, the city will arrange for the tires to be cleared at the owners' expense. The police are now investigating how the tires got there.

About ZARE

The ZARE initiative is an amalgamation of a total of 17 companies organized in the Federal Association of Tire Dealers and Vulcanisers (BRV), 16 of which are certified disposal companies. The ZARE partners have set themselves the task of raising awareness of professional old tire recycling in Germany. At 24 locations, the ZARE partners cover almost all of Germany and the Netherlands. The ZARE partners do not have any additional certification compared to the certified used tire disposal companies who do not belong to the initiative. The certificate in accordance with the Waste Management Ordinance/BRV requirement profile alone stands for environmentally friendly disposal of old tires. The ZARE initiative makes this public.
