The ZARE initiative – Certified Tire Disposal Companies – celebrates its 10th anniversary this year and looks back on a successful decade of environmental responsibility, quality, and transparency.
What began in 2015 as an idea and the merger of dedicated waste disposal companies under the umbrella of the Federal Association of Tire and Vulcanizing Trades (BRV) has developed into a nationwide network of currently 18 certified partner companies. The goal then, as now, is to draw attention to grievances, set a good example, and establish real solutions for the professional disposal of used tires.
From the very beginning, the focus was on education, quality, and a committed environmental approach. With targeted public relations, an information portal for workshops, dealers, and consumers, and the option to request disposal information directly via the website, ZARE has set new standards – and grown continuously. The partner companies meet the highest standards for documentation, verification, and environmental protection.
Over the past ten years, ZARE has established itself as a reliable voice in the discussion on the circular economy, export practices, and sustainable tire disposal – vis-à-vis policymakers, the media, and the industry. The network remains dynamic: ZARE aims to attract additional partners, share knowledge, and jointly develop new approaches to transparent, legally compliant, and environmentally friendly waste tire disposal.
"Today, 18 companies are part of the initiative – and we're not finished yet," says Christina Guth, ZARE coordinator. "But a start has been made, and many companies are disposing of their waste exclusively through certified waste tire disposal companies."
A big thank you to all ZARE partners, supporters, and industry colleagues for their trust and dedicated collaboration over the past ten years!
