Volunteers clean up the landscape

Spring cleaning is also good for the landscape, not just for the home. Volunteers collected rubbish together in Esplingerode and Bilshausen on Saturday. The organizers were happy with the result, mainly because there wasn't as much rubbish lying around as in previous years.
The local Heimat- und Verkehrsverein (HVV) and Mayor Anne-Marie Kreis called for this action at the 44th Environment Day. A good 50 Bilshauser responded to the call and collected rubbish from roadsides and ditches. A container and several tractors with trailers were ready at the sports hall. The container only filled up to half, whereas a few years ago it was almost not enough. Apparently less rubbish is carelessly thrown into the landscape.
The Bilshausen garbage collectors mainly found plastic garbage, wire, 15 old tires and a large sack with used baby diapers. There were no larger finds such as pieces of furniture that day.
Some youth groups also took part in the garbage collection campaign, including the local children's fire brigade, the company group and members of clubs.
