Once again, a suspected environmental polluter was identified, this time through painted license plates. But the garbage detectives continue to investigate because their goal is to clear up all cases of illegal disposal.
In the current case, the suspect is said to have illegally disposed of old tires on a dirt road near an RWE Power conveyor system in Neurath. Local residents found the nearly 200 tires that must have been brought in by truck. The same environmental sinner is also strongly suspected of illegally disposing of many used tires in Mönchengladbach and in the Viersen district.
A tire itself provided the decisive lead: license plates from the district of Viersen. The owner could then be quickly identified via the license plate number.
