In a forest area near Freiburg, illegal waste disposal has been increasing for years. At night, the polluters dispose of household waste there, but also used tires or even used oil barrels. The cumbersome disposal then takes place at the expense of the taxpayer.

On December 22, 2025, approximately 19 used tires were illegally dumped along an agricultural road near the L50/L52 highways close to Salmtal, Altrich, and Klausen-Pohlbach. The Wittlich Police Inspectorate is investigating.
