The campaign was launched to draw the public's attention to environmental sin. In fact, behavior has changed over the years. While 1997 tons of waste were collected during the first campaign in 88, the amount dropped to 2008 tons in 67. In 2018, the number continued to drop to just 46 tons. People are more environmentally conscious and it shows.
