Laziness or greed, coupled with a complete lack of environmental awareness, can sometimes have a very negative impact on economic activity. The Groß-Gerau Forestry Office, together with the German Federal Association of Tire Dealers and Vulcanizers (BRV) and the city of Mörfelden-Walldorf near Frankfurt, is pleased to announce a successful investigation into illegally dumped used tires.
Together these three organizations have apparently identified the owner of tires illegally dumped in a forest, so that the responsible disposal company must now expect legal consequences. Apparently, there have always been cases of illegal disposal of used tires in the forests between Groß-Gerau, Rüsselsheim and Mörfelden-Walldorf, according to the local press. In June, for example, a complete truckload of worn tires was dumped in a forest parking lot on the B 486. Since all attempts to catch the perpetrator or perpetrators had been unsuccessful, the local forestry office and the BRV started a cooperation in July. As a result of the media reports, several witnesses contacted the forestry office and pointed the trail to the waste disposal company responsible.
