On February 12, 2025, it was revealed that used tires had once again been illegally dumped in several districts of Rommerskirchen. The Gill district was particularly affected, where unknown individuals repeatedly tampered with a farm track near Ingendorfer Weg.
Tires were also discovered in Butzheim and on the border with Stommeln – in large numbers.

The ZARE initiative is an amalgamation of a total of 18 companies organized in the Federal Association of Tire Dealers and Vulcanisers (BRV), 17 of which are certified disposal companies. The ZARE partners have set themselves the task of raising awareness of professional old tire recycling in Germany. At 29 locations, the ZARE partners cover almost all of Germany and the Netherlands. The ZARE partners do not have any additional certification compared to the certified used tire disposal companies who do not belong to the initiative. The certificate in accordance with the Waste Management Ordinance/BRV requirement profile alone stands for environmentally friendly disposal of old tires. The ZARE initiative makes this public.
ZARE is an active member of the AZuR network. The AZuR network finds ways and solutions for an ecologically and economically sensible tire cycle.
