In San Juan Nepomuceno, used tires are illegally burned

Hugua Pucu: In the department of Caazapá, in the area of ​​San Juan Nepomuceno, old tires are illegally burned in fields. A practice prohibited by law, yet repeatedly observed by local residents. They stated: The perpetrators and the tires come from the colony of Independencia, Department of Guairá, because nearby eucalyptus trees are transported to Independencia from a municipal property, using the same truck that loaded the old tires.
Another local resident said over the phone: The truck driver who dumps and burns the old tires, nicknamed "Choto", transports the tires on the back of his truck and has them covered with tarps.
The incident is being investigated by the Environmental Prosecutor's Office in Caazapá, by an investigator named Erico Ávalos, who has now requested the intervention of the National Police. The prosecutor's office in San Juan Nepomuceno was also informed of the case.
