In Bad Saarow, Brandenburg, mountains of illegally dumped waste are piling up next to a large street. A factory that processed building rubble and used sand for foundries went bankrupt in 1990, and in 2008 the name appeared again on a black list of illegal waste facilities. 43.500 cubic meters of building rubble and other waste materials are now supposed to pile up here. It remains to be seen whether the mountains have always been this big or whether they have grown over time.
