In the past few days, unknown persons have disposed of old tires in the parking lot at the Dürnsteiner bridge near the Schäftlarn monastery. The chairman of the Isar Valley Association, Erich Rühmer, found a number of old tires and a mattress at the toilet building in the parking lot. In the past, only once illegal garbage was dumped at this place, namely a pile of bulky garbage that was found in the parking lot last year. The lower nature conservation authority at the responsible district office in Munich also confirms that illegal waste dumping of this dimension is rare. The nature conservation authority discovered the old tires during a site inspection and has already arranged for their disposal. The parking lot was built in 2002/2003 on the property at the Dürnstein Bridge. It can be used as a starting point for hikes and bike tours. After a few meters you reach a place to swim in the Isar meadows.
