Since the beginning of the year, more and more garbage has been dumped illegally in the forests around Rüsselsheim. In addition to old tyres, hazardous waste such as used oil barrels is also disposed of, mostly in nightly operations in places that are easy to reach by car.
The costs of disposal are now borne by the citizens, since the environmental crimes are almost never found.

An observant witness saw on March 15, 2026, at around 14:30 p.m., old tires being illegally dumped in a parking lot on Hamelner Straße in the Steinbergen district (Rinteln).
On March 13, 2026, more than twenty used tires were discovered and reported on a vineyard between Köndringen and Mundingen. The exact time period in which they were dumped is unclear.
