On Monday, March 3, 2025, employees of the Auengrund municipal public works department and the public order office discovered an illegal dumping of rubbish in the Merbelsrod district: A total of 14 old tyres were found along a forest and field path on Lichtenauer Straße – some lying directly on the path, others having rolled down the embankment.
The municipal administration is outraged by this environmental outrage: "Disposing of old tires in the forest is not a trivial offense, but a criminal offense," a spokesperson emphasizes. The public will now once again bear the disposal costs.
