60 car tires illegally dumped in the fields near Oering in the Segeberg district

In the Segeberg district of Schleswig-Holstein, unknown individuals illegally dumped 60 car tires in a field near Oering. As reported by the Kieler Nachrichten, the large quantity of tires was discovered on a plot of farmland away from main roads—a typical location chosen by perpetrators who rely on minimal social control. Based on the number of tires, investigators assume that at least one van or car trailer was used. Clearing the field will incur considerable costs for the landowner and the municipality; at the same time, there is a risk that pollutants from tire abrasion and rim fragments will seep into the soil for years, impairing the agricultural usability of the land. Oering is located in the Itzstedt administrative district, south of Bad Segeberg, near the city limits of Norderstedt. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bad Segeberg Police Directorate, Press Office, at +49 4551 884-0.
