Numerous old tires were illegally disposed of on the Gaybach in the southern Eifel. The former fishing tenant Joachim Colles reports that in addition to garden houses and caravans, car tires are also regularly thrown into the stream. A particularly critical spot is near Wallendorf, where three tires were recently discovered. Colles suspects that farmers store the tires close to the water and that they then end up in the stream. Despite reports to the authorities, there are still around 20 tires lying along the Gaybach, as of August 1, 2024.
