On June 2, 2024, a person authorized to hunt discovered a significant amount of old tires and rims that had been illegally dumped on a forest path between Melsbach and Rengsdorf along the K 104. The Neuwied/Rhein Police Department, which is now conducting the investigation, suspects that the items were transported in a van or a car with a trailer.
The identity of the perpetrators is still unknown. The police are working to properly dispose of the carelessly disposed old tires and rims and are asking the public for help in identifying those responsible.
