In the municipality of Wörrstadt (Rhineland-Palatinate), several incidents of environmental pollution occurred within a week. In addition to a blue-discolored body of water in a drainage ditch near Schornsheim, another illegal dumping site was discovered on January 29, 2026, near a stream close to the K20 road near Gau-Weinheim. Unknown individuals had illegally dumped several car tires there and also discovered a black, viscous substance in the water. The fire department and police cleaned the stream and took samples; the investigation is ongoing.
