Several used tires were illegally dumped by unknown persons at the rest area on state road 158 near Monzelfeld (Rhineland-Palatinate). The dumping was discovered on February 8, 2026, by officers from the Bernkastel-Kues Police Inspectorate during a traffic accident investigation . The police are investigating this as an administrative offense under the German Recycling and Waste Management Act , which can be punished with a substantial fine of up to €100.000, and are requesting information from the public.
