On July 15, 2024, a large amount of illegally disposed waste was discovered at the green waste site in the extension of Steinertsweg in Birkenfeld. The waste management company (AWB) of the Birkenfeld National Park District found, among other things, old tires, a large couch and a refrigerator. According to the AWB, the illegal dumping of electrical devices is a criminal offense, as it can pose a danger to people and the environment.
The AWB urgently appeals to the residents of Birkenfeld and the surrounding communities: Anyone who has observed clearance work or seen vehicles with waste in the Steinertsweg area is asked to report information to the AWB by phone or email
