240 old tires illegally disposed of in the forest near Bad Dürkheim

Illegal waste tire disposal

On March 02, 2024, an employee discovered illegally disposed of old tires at the “Saupferch” forest parking lot near Bad Dürkheim. In total, around 240 tires were found at the edge of the parking lot and in the surrounding area. The waste management company that took over the disposal reported difficult conditions due to the location of the tires. District Administrator Hans-Ulrich Ihlenfeld condemns the act and reminds people that tires can be disposed of inexpensively at recycling centers. Illegal disposal can be punished with fines of up to 2.500 euros.
Authorities are asking for information from witnesses who have observed suspicious activity in order to identify the perpetrators. They are asked to contact us at 06322/961-5202 or by email to Umwelt@kreis-bad-duerkheim.de.
