In the Hunsrück region, unknown individuals illegally dumped waste on a farm track near Eckersweiler (Birkenfeld district) between Sunday, March 22, 2026, and Wednesday morning, March 25, 2026. On "Panzerstraße" (Tank Road) outside the village, residents found approximately 50 to 60 bags filled with garden waste, soil, and household garbage. A witness also discovered 11 car tires nearby, which had also been illegally dumped. The Birkenfeld Police Inspectorate has launched an investigation for illegal waste disposal and is requesting any relevant information from the public—especially regarding vehicles or individuals who were acting suspiciously in the rural area between Saturday evening and Wednesday morning.
