On February 27, 2024, a citizen found a hundred car tires that had been illegally disposed of near Feldstrasse in Rommerskirchen, far in the Butzheimer Bruch and near the Velderhof golf course.
This incident is just one of many similar incidents that have occurred for several years in the extensive network of paths between Rommerskirchen, Gill, Stommeln, Stommelerbusch as well as Nettesheim and Butzheim. This suggests that the perpetrator or perpetrators have detailed local knowledge, as this network of paths is often difficult to access even for locals.
The community has now removed the tires and is preparing a criminal complaint against unknown persons. Witnesses who can provide further relevant information are asked to contact the police or public order office.
