Illegal dumping of rubbish is on the rise in Stolberg, including an increasing number of old tires - now even in the city center. Most recently, large quantities of tires were reported on September 24, 2024 in a wooded area near Mühlen train station and the European road, just a few meters from busy squares. The city administration plans to dispose of the tires, but the perpetrators usually remain undetected. Ultimately, the general public bears the costs, as clues to the perpetrators are often difficult to find.
