Hunter discovers over 50 tires in Vögelsen

Illegal waste tire disposal

On August 18, 2024, the hunting tenant Jürgen Schnelle discovered more than 50 illegally disposed car tires in the Vögelsen hunting area. The finds caused outrage, especially among Vögelsen's mayor Silke Rogge. Environmental offenses of this kind can lead to fines of up to 50.000 euros. The authorities are asking for information to bring those responsible to justice.

The ZARE initiative is an amalgamation of a total of 18 companies organized in the Federal Association of Tire Dealers and Vulcanisers (BRV), 17 of which are certified disposal companies. The ZARE partners have set themselves the task of raising awareness of professional old tire recycling in Germany. At 29 locations, the ZARE partners cover almost all of Germany and the Netherlands. The ZARE partners do not have any additional certification compared to the certified used tire disposal companies who do not belong to the initiative. The certificate in accordance with the Waste Management Ordinance/BRV requirement profile alone stands for environmentally friendly disposal of old tires. The ZARE initiative makes this public.
