On July 31, 2023 between 14 p.m. and 17 p.m., around 100 old tires were dumped in Wittmund by unknown persons. So far there has been evidence of a white sprinter. It is suspected that people pretend to be professional waste tire disposers to locals and take old tires with them for a fee. Instead of disposing of them properly, the tires are disposed of illegally.
