Nightly waste tire disposal in Höfer: Police are looking for witnesses

Illegal waste tire disposal

On the night of April 12th to 13th, 2024, numerous old tires were illegally disposed of in the Höfer district, near Burghorn. The incident occurred on a passable forest path and poses a significant danger to both the environment and night-time vehicle traffic. The Celle police have started the investigation and are asking for any relevant information on 05141/277-215, which will help to catch the person perpetrators could lead.

The ZARE initiative is an amalgamation of a total of 18 companies organized in the Federal Association of Tire Dealers and Vulcanisers (BRV), 17 of which are certified disposal companies. The ZARE partners have set themselves the task of raising awareness of professional old tire recycling in Germany. At 29 locations, the ZARE partners cover almost all of Germany and the Netherlands. The ZARE partners do not have any additional certification compared to the certified used tire disposal companies who do not belong to the initiative. The certificate in accordance with the Waste Management Ordinance/BRV requirement profile alone stands for environmentally friendly disposal of old tires. The ZARE initiative makes this public.
