In the district of Gifhorn, Lower Saxony, an exceptionally large quantity of used tires was illegally dumped: On a forest path along county road K 35, a witness discovered approximately 300 discarded tires on the afternoon of April 10, 2026. According to current information, an entire truckload was apparently dumped there. The incident is believed to have occurred between 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2026, and 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026. The Meinersen police, the locally responsible authority, have initiated criminal proceedings for the illegal disposal of waste. Initial leads regarding the possible origin of the tires have been received; investigators are still requesting relevant information from the public – particularly regarding truck traffic in the vicinity of K 35 during the aforementioned period.
