Since the beginning of summer, cases of illegal waste disposal have been increasing in Griesheim, especially old tires being dumped in public green spaces and forests. This not only causes environmental pollution, but also leads to additional financial costs for the city, warns Michael Messerschmidt, head of the municipal building yard.
The city has already received numerous reports of illegal waste on its online reporting system and is asking citizens to help identify the perpetrators. Illegal dumping of waste is an offence that can be punished with fines. The administration emphasizes the importance of proper waste disposal and appeals to citizens to do their part to protect the environment.
