Major fire in Karlsruhe caused by improperly stored old tires

On the night of January 26, 2026, a storage area containing a large quantity of used tires caught fire in the Nordstadt district of Karlsruhe. The tires, covering an area of ​​approximately 500 square meters, were ablaze. The fire department, with several dozen firefighters, battled the blaze for several hours to extinguish it and prevent it from reigniting. No one was injured, and the damage is estimated at around €30,000. Police are investigating the incident and are examining the possibility of arson.
