Employees of the Schweich motorway maintenance department found the old tires at the Steiner Wald rest area on the A1 between the Saarland state border and the Hermekeil exit - right on the green strip by the first parking space. The tires were placed there between July 3, 16 p.m. and July 4, 9 a.m., the Schweich police motorway station said.
