In the Palatinate town of Loetzbeuren, about 80 kilometers west of Mainz, a barn caught fire on the night of September 22nd. About 100 used tires were stored inside. The fire was reported shortly before midnight, and 120 people from the Lötzbeuren, Raversbeuren, Irmenach, Büchenbeuren and Traben-Trarbach fire brigades then fought the flames and heavy smoke. According to the police in Zell, the damage was between 30.000 and 50.000 euros. The cause of the fire is still unclear, the Wittlich Criminal Investigation Department has started the investigation.
